Inspired by traditional paintings of North-east India, these moving shadows beautifully re-create the story of the time when the world was young, when Woman tamed Man, Dog, Horse and Cow but  . . . but did she tame Cat? Narrated with gentle humour, this magical performance is created using simple technology and will entrance all those over the age of five.

Using a rich mix of puppetry, object theatre and storytelling, Drew Colby explores the fascination children can have with mundane everyday objects to tell the story of Ivan the Ninny, who sets sail across the sea to see what he can see.

Based on an Arthur Ransome adaptation from “Old Peter’s Russian Tales”, the story explores the importance of salt in a narrative packed with whacky characters and clever use of a picnic basket  full of cups, plates and cutlery -  to create a seascape, a city, a kitchen and the underwater world where Ivan the Ninny meets the royal cook, the overbearing Tzar, his daughter and even a giant fish!

Adapted from the story by Hans Christian Andersen, this new musical play takes place in a fairytale world full of magical beings. It’s a world where strange things can happen to anybody. When little Kay gets a speck of dust from a magic mirror in his eye  it changes the way he looks at things - anything good he sees as bad, and anything beautiful he sees as ugly.

Whilst playing in the snow with the other boys, Kay is snatched from the world he knows. When he does not return his friend Gerda sets out on a perilous journey - to what seems the very end of the world - in search of him. In keeping with the fantastical nature of the story this production incorporates puppets and masks.
