4th Beverley Puppet Festival to be held on 16 - 18 July 2010
Beverley Puppet Festival returns on 16th – 18th July 2010 with plans to eclipse the previous 3 festivals.
This biennial festival will continue to offer something for everyone. Previous festivals have introduced performances suitable for adults and teenagers and only limited by the imagination of the puppeteer. This is in line with a national trend sparked by shows including spectacular puppetry, such as Warhorse.
Children’s shows have proved popular with young children and their families. The shows planned range from traditional Punch & Judy and well known fairy tales to beautifully told parables relating to the world around us.
The Puppet Festival will be held in a number of venues around Beverley Town Centre and free street performances are also planned.

In 2008 16 ticketed theatre shows and 23 free outdoor acts from 17 of Britain's leading puppet theatre companies invaded Beverley. See full details of the 2008 Beverley Puppet Festival
In 2006 we organised the Beverley Puppet Festival that featured 11 companies, 17 shows and various street performances over 3 days in May. Educational residencies created a schools' showcase and procession. The highlight of the festival was Pak Asep Sunandar Sunarya and troupe, master puppeteer from Bandung, West Java, Indonesia.
The 2006 Beverley Puppet Festival was funded by Arts Council England and East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
